Existing Tank Lifting

One of our clients was tasked to allow for the removal of an old storage tank from site for relocation as a second hand storage tank.

Although the tank was clearly not designed to be lifted as one item, we were tasked with the review and design of additional strengthening members that could be retro-fitted to the tank structure to allow for the tank to be lifted from location, tailed into the horizontal position and transported from site.

The design was developed using first principles of tank design and verified using FEA simulation software.
